experience 

I have been teaching undergraduate courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee since 1997.  The courses I have taught include Introduction to Film Studies, History of World Cinema (I and II), European Cinema 1945-1968, and Principles of Media Studies.  I have also worked as a teaching assistant leading discussions for courses such as Film Styles and Genres and Gender and the Media.

In all of my courses, I always strive to place film and other media in their historical, cultural, and social contexts and to encourage students to explore the myriad ways in which viewers encounter and experience audiovisual texts.
